Skype front camera angle

I've been using Skype here and there to video chat with those that don't have iPhone 4's or Mac's to FaceTime with (any ideas about IF FaceTime will make its way over to Windows machines EVEN THOUGH Apple NEVER promised such a thing?). The quality has been surprisingly good (though still not quite up to snuff with FaceTime IMO), and I have only noticed one issue:

When using the front-facing camera, I have to keep the phone tilted down at a much sharper angle to keep my face centered on the outgoing screen. With FaceTime, I can hold the phone and look straight on with no troubles, but with Skype when I hold it at the same angle, the other person seems to be seeing just the top of my face and whatever is behind/above me.

Has anyone else noticed this, or am I just crazy?

Apple never promised that they will make their way to Windows machines with FaceTime. Where have you heard that?

The only things they said were that they made an open standard(everyone can use it) and that they are making their way to the Mac - and at this time there is only a beta out there.

I just remember seeing it mentioned in a few articles when Apple announced FaceTime for Mac way back when. Here's one via the google machine: http://www.9to5mac.com/25645/facetime-coming-to-ichat-windows

Maybe Apple never said specifically it would be coming to Windows, but I thought it was assumed to eventually make its way there.

You can't be mad at Apple when you assume things. Apple said that they would ship 10's of Million of FaceTime devices in 2010 (iPhone/iPod touch/Macs). As far as marketing goes, Apple has no incentive to support FaceTime on the Windows platform, if anything, FaceTime is working in their benefit to switch people over to a Mac (not a main reason, but a reason).

Now, if FaceTime does become an Open Standard, then maybe another company (maybe Skype) will utilize this feature and support this on the Windows Platform, but don't expect (assume) that Apple will.

Alright, alright, I mistakenly referenced a rumor in passing. Let's forget about that and move back to the original reason for me posting. Has anyone else noticed the issue with Skype I mentioned?

I use Skype all the time and yes I have to hold it at an angle too. Don’t have to do it on Face Time. It’s weird.
