Dear fellow mac gamers

I just registered to give you guys a heads-up on the frame-rate limiter modded dll at skyrimnexus.com. I've tweaked the vsync, mouse acceleration and memory management ini tweaks which you probably already know about, but this mod made by far the most difference.

I'm now running skyrim at 1920x1200 at ultra settings with FXAA enabled (shadows on high, everything else maxed) and its almost completely smooth, even in first person view. (early 2011 MBP 8.3)

I've also over clocked the AMD 6750M to 800/900 (at 1.055 v) and the temps are actually lower with the limited FPS.

I've also made the executable "large address aware" with the program hosted on the nexus.

Good luck, just thought you guys deserved to know about it if you didn't already.

How did you get the mod to work? Was it a data file or was it just a simple adjustment? Are you able to use the launcher?

I smell spam...not sure why no one else does...

EDIT: Hm..then again maybe not he did make one other post asking about settings...

EDIT2: NOT spam! Sorry OP.

Well, that's the first and last time I'll try and post something useful on this forum. First I get reprimanded, rudely, for not posting a link to the file (when one can easily go to Skyrimnexus.com and find the file for oneself), and then I get called a "spammer," whatever that means in this context.

I was genuinely enthusiastic about improving the performance of Skyrim on my Macbook Pro and was not "spamming" anyone or anything.

I apologize OP, I should have looked at your other posts first before I suggested spam.

The reason I said that though is its a common tactic for spammers to sign up with a new account, post a link to something and leave. If I would have researched like I was supposed to I would have seen that you did have another post on here talking about Skyrim.

Again, my apologies.

im running into some issues. I am playing the game on my imac with boot camp. Windows ultimate and I can't figure out this vsync thing. I made some slight adjustments to the .ini file but that was it. besides turning off somethings in the settings. Honesly, I'm learning. I am nearly a wiz at the mac, I am tech support/repair tech but macs are EASY... windows is complicated. Files are stored easily and in the obvious locations.

I might need a step by step guide. I want this game to play like butter. Nothing else runs in the background... I like my windows simple. I just want to play Skyrim and Fallout games on it.

Relax dude. We appreciate the info! Keep coming back. :)

How did you get the Skyrim4GB mod to work on Mac? Are you using Cider Wrapper or Wineskin? I'm currently using the Cider Wrapper and its running fine with that FPS Limiter and I just want the 4GB mod to work.
