Hi all,
I just got a new to me macbook air. You can find my original post about it here:
https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/798829/
The air will be delivered to me sans any OS. I plan on using a external USB dvd drive (not superdrive) to install the OS. I will go to BB to pick up a new copy of SL.
I want to make sure that I prepare the drive and OS install right the first time so that I don't have to redo it again. Here are my requirements:
1) Snow Leopard
2) Boot camp for Win 7 (picking up ultimate 32-bit today from school)
3) VMware fusion (when the new version support 7 is available) to run the boot camped win 7 install.
My question is what is the best way to do this. I've done reading on this forum and I think I have it down but if you could please just make sure my steps are correct and fill in any missing blanks..
1) Install DVD into drive. boot
2) HEre is where I am missing information...Is bootcamp the first thing to install, or do you install SL and then do bootcamp to redo partitions?
3) Install SL
4) Install Win 7
5) Install VMware Fusion
For the win 7 install and the macbook air, is 32-bit the best option? I'd like to save my 64-bit license for my dell, but can get another one for cheap if 64-bit would be better.
Sorry for the length post. just want to make sure I do it right.
Thanks in advance!!!
Cheers!
