This one is driving me crazy. I searched google and these forums, no help.

Today I set up my 16 inch Macbook Pro M1 Pro model.

My M1 13" Macbook was on 12.0.1 and I made a brand new time machine backup and used that to set up the new machine.

All is fine, but signal messenger and chrome are sending me notifications and each of them has the slash sign (prohibited sign?) in them.

Now I know that Chrome is the ARM64 version as it looked at the about section. Signal is an Intel app, but every google chrome process in Activity monitor is showing Apple.

This did not happen on the 13" M1 Mac.

Any idea what is happening here?

I do wish someone could have chimed in here, but thanks to the folks that looked at the thread anyhow.

Try removing the apps, reboot, and then reinstalling.

You didn't say if those two apps worked, despite the slash through the icons...

What happened to your thread title, which says "Slash through MOST Icons ... ", yet you only mention 2 (?)

You also said that Chrome and Signal are "sending me notifications". Notifications? -- or error messages?
Can you give us an example of those messages?
