I currently have a L-shaped glass desk that looks good, but find it somewhat flimsy and shows cables (obviously) and also it attracts dust or any airborne thing because I had it tested, it is addicted to glass cleaner.

Any good suggestions? No, I don't care for the jerker (ikea;) ) but I'd basically like either all black or black legs with natural color top. Rectangular, no file drawers, maybe a pencil drawer but thats it. I don't mind spending money on quality things so THANKS
 
I greatly reduced the number of cables hanging down from my table/desk
by mounting a surge/powerstrip to the wood underside of the table.

The cables in use are supported by cable hangers and cable ties.

I have one power cable twisted down along the table leg and that's it.

If you want a really nice pro looking desk, consider some of the marble and granite tops too.
 
Something like this? Ikea - choose the style legs you want and choose the top.

Yeah! Where would I get a four legged desk (no drawers) with a nice black diamond granite top? That'd be awesome. Maybe some stainless steel desk leg covers at the bottom... cool

, want something that will be great both in quality and ergonomics you might want to look at some of the desks that Steelcase makes such as this Werndl Emerge:

Haha, its like $15 from target, (the pic isn't mine) but I have the same one ;)

In the Washington D.C. area, there's a marble shop near Tyson's Corner that sells all kinds of tables and desks made of marble, granite and other stuff.

You might also talk to some of the kitchen remodeling companies that
carry better counter top materials.

It may just be a matter of finding legs strong enough to handle the weight
of the top and your audio gear.
 
www.lian-li.com makes great computer cases and they have released a very sleek desk you should check out...

hard to find a place to buy it from though
 
I looked around everywhere for a desk that fit my needs.. Anything that I liked was over $1,000- well out of my budget. My solution- build my own desk. Now I have a custom-built desk, designed to fit my office and needs perfectly. Cost- under $200 (sorry, I don't have any pictures yet). I used redwood and birch, so the top just needs a stain and sealer, and it looks great. By designing my own desk, I was able to provide all cable management. I'm working on a return for it now..
 
stryder that's fantastic. If I was very crafty, or didn't think I would waste a lot of time, then end up spending the money anyway, I would make my own as well. This is what I ended up with. I'll post pictures once I move in my new place (probably august/september)

I have wondered about these Lian Li tables for some time. I love the cases. Aluminum would probably be cold to the touch all the time, I wonder if the surface pits after long exposure to skin oils. I keep things clean anyway.

First off, can you give a link to the site you got these from, amazing. I'm in the process of turning my room into an office like area to help me work (im 15, lots ot crappy homework+bad work ethics=slow nights).

Apple should sell the Mac trash can. I'd buy.

I believe iGary had a sweet pic of his setup on an awesome sleek desk. Don't have the link at the moment (iGary???)

I am also looking for a new sleek desk...I think strydr and Peyton are creative in designing their own desk. Please post more pics!:rolleyes:
