Hi all,
I'm at my wit's end with this problem, and I'm wondering if I'm missing something. My 14" M1 Pro has Dark Wake issues that cause it to drain somewhere around 10% of battery life when "asleep" overnight. This seems to be a recurring problem, and I've tried every solution I've come across, including sudo pmset schedule cancelall (which worked once, but now often I get a kernel panic error). Viewing the logs, the most recent issues seem to be with the mDNSResponder, which I've tried killing in activity manger to reset it, but that doesn't seem to work. On occasion a reboot will help the problem for a few days before it returns.
These dark wake issues boggle my mind in how prevalent they seem to be, how much they impact the hardware, and how much they limit the device. This device is such high quality when it's working full tilt, but having to keep bluetooth turned off and disabling so many of the features Apple flouts, just to try to keep a charge due to what seems to be system software errors is insanely frustrating. When it's working, it's amazing to not have to charge for 5 days of light usage, but those brilliant moments are shattered when I notice that it's dropped 15% overnight randomly and it all starts over. Again, in the abstract and when it works I love this device, but I'm at the point where I flat out would not recommend it to just about anybody I know because 99% of people I know would not be able to dig into Terminal to try and squash this bug.
