My HP w1907 monitor evidently does not like to be put to sleep, as it tends to flicker on and off at random intervals once the Mac Mini wakes it up. I'm using an HDMI to DVI connection (using the dongle that was included with the Mini.)

Has anyone else had sleep related issues with their monitors, specifically those who have HP monitors? Is there some way I can address this problem without disabling sleep altogether? Since it's out of warranty I can't even contact HP on it. :p

It seems like my only option would be to try different connectors. I could try:

A straight HDMI to DVI cable (no adapter needed)

or

HDMI to VGA connection

or

DisplayPort to DVI connection

or

DisplayPort to VGA connection

What's likely to be the most stable connection and minimize any problems using sleep mode with an old monitor?
