hi,

when i leave my mac, i press "ctrl+shift+eject" because i want it awake to run programs, but at the same time i want it locked and the monitor blacked out.

When i come back to it, i just need to press "up arrow" and insert my login. That's it.

BUT (here comes the bad news) sometimes, when i come back it doesn't "come to life". Monitor remains blacked out and nothing happens. I have to press "power button" on the back of the Mac mini to bring it on.

What's happening here?

Im new in Mac world.
Thank you

sleep mode

When the mac enters sleep mode, i can wake it up pressing any key? Or this only works when it is only inactive?

If so, maybe sometimes for some reason it enters in real sleep mode and therefore i cant wake it up with the keyboard..

Is it an actual monitor or a TV connected to the HDMI?
I'm using a TV and I also thought that my Mini was failing to wake but then I discovered that the TV just wasn't detecting it.
I learned that if I just toggle the input on my TV (away from HDMI and then back) I'd be back in business.
