Which do you use?

I'm wanting to use an app called "Awaken" but I'd need to leave my iMac in sleep mode for it to work.

So I'm looking to get an idea on what you guys use.

That was one of my biggest question before I bought an iMac, sleep or power off, I asked it million times. Now I realised there's only one answer to that: Sleep!! I only turn it off if I'm away more than 2 days.

Turn it off........that way it can't catch on fire while your sleeping or away from home.

Definitely Power Off because I don't want to have to remember it's on. Same thing with the iPad. I always power it off when I'm done because it give me peace of mind to know it's off.

If it's in sleep mode, I almost feel like something's pending - I have to "turn it off".

OCD much? haha. Well for the Mac, it's healthy for it to go into Sleep Mode. My friends tell me it's better for the computer rather than Power Off.

And for the iPad? seriously? It's just like saying you cut off your phone whenever you're not using it. I would hate having to wait for the iPad to turn on when I need to use it. It beats the practicality of the iPad.

There is no harm using sleep, instead of powering off. The only time I power down any of my computers, is if I'm not using it for a few days, or if there is a huge lightning storm coming. Other than those two exceptions, my computers are either always on, or asleep. The only time I reboot is if a software update requires that I do so. :)
