Sleep problem AFTER SMC update

Whenever I try use the remote to sleep (hold play) the screen dims then lights up and the mac decides to sleep 30 seconds later Infact all sleep modes now take their to activate including power button and apple menu is there a downgrader?

BTW: I've got a 20" C2D standard

update: tried resetting permissions and zapping PRAM, nothing works...
