I have Plex working on a mac mini I have connected to my tv. I really like the interface but am wondering about putting the computer to sleep using the apple remote. What I want would be to be able to wake and put the computer to sleep with the apple remote while never exiting the plex program. Usually when you press and hold the play/pause button on the apple remote it will automatically put the computer to sleep, but for some reason it doesn't do that when I'm using Plex. So I have to quit the plex program and put the computer to sleep, and then when I want to use it again I have to open the plex program again, which you can't do with the apple remote.

Does anyone know a way to put the computer to sleep with the apple remote while never exiting plex?

BTW, anyone have any tips on getting plex to work a little faster, it seems to work slow sometimes and it takes a while to click through the interface?

there is a sleep option in plex, it's on the main menu,

you may have to enable it

In mediastream go to prefrences, skin, home then at the bottom of the list it has "show power menu" there are then options for quit, sleep and shutdown.

those change the default, the others are still available if you "right" when whichever one is shown in the main menu is selected, which in your case sounds like quit.

Thank you! That was exactly what I was looking for.
