Like many others, I use my phone to generate white noise to help me sleep -- especially when traveling. I've been using an old app called Ambiance for my sleep noise generator. On my new iPhone 7 Plus, with the stereo speakers, it sounds different -- now that it is playing out of two speakers instead of one, the sound isn't quite right anymore.

I'm also a little bit concerned with playing a sound out of the second, new speaker. That speaker used to be used just for playing audio on a call, and I'm not sure if it is up to spec for playing sounds all night long. (Never had any problem whatsoever using the normal speaker for my iPhones, and have been doing this for years.)

I think it would be great to have an option in a sleep app to play sounds out of only one speaker if you want to.

I'm also looking for a new white noise app if anyone has any recommendations?

Have you tried checking some settings like those in the accessibility section to see if you could perhaps disable the second stereo speaker?

I thought about that, I'd just hate to lose functionality when I'm not using a white noise app.

I use an app call Rain Rain. Not white noise, but different rain sounds. I have never used it to fall asleep but I do use it a lot in noisy background environments when I am reading. I have children so I spend far too much time in arenas, pools, and various community buildings with very loud ventilation droning systems. I also use in when flying.
