Hi guys. Since I had some time today I figured I would give SLI on the Mac Pro a shot.
I was able to successfully get 2x 7900GTX working in sli and can confirm it works with the available 85.96 driver.
I tested out world of warcraft for awhile with no issues. It ran as good as it does on my FX60 gaming machine.

I used the 8x3 pci-e configuration.

Card one is in slot 1
Card two is in slot 3, i believe from looking, its hard to see in there.
and im using a Asus connector between the two boards.

I've got quite a few questions, if you don't mind:)

Are you using the hacked driver that allows SLi on intel chipsets? Can you use nvidia's WHQL to get the same results? I wasn't aware that nvidia was allowing SLi operation on the intel chipsets.

On a similar note, has anyone heard of crossfire working in the mac pro? Since Apple's certified X1900XT will run in boot camp just fine, I would guess that if you were to get a X1950XTX Crossfire-edition then crossfire it with the apple 1900, it should be able to work. Just curious if anyone's tried that yet.

Os X?

Do you have functional display under OS X without swapping monitor cables etc? Did you have to dump/burn firmware onto the card in order to get it working under OSX?

You have to use a sli hacked driver that is floating around on the internet. Its called version 85.96_mod is all I can tell you.
You must use this driver only as there are not any new hacked drivers that allow you to run sli on a non sli motherboard.
As for osx, NEITHER of the cards will work in osx, you have to use the apple supplied card that came with the machine, or an aftermarked compatible apple one (ie x1900xt upgrade from apple). The sli is for XP only.
