I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but I bought a wrap for my MBP from them so I thought it was appropriate. MODS please move to a different forum if it belongs elsewhere, thanks.

I know there are other posts about this on here, but I wanted to repost it back at the top because I didn't find the reviews here until it was too late.

As the title says, @slickwrapsinc is a garbage company, with terrible customer service and PR policies that verge on being fraudulent. They delay shipping, basically ignore you when you inquire about your product, and keep you in "processing" limbo.

I ordered a wrap for my new macbook pro, after about several days of my order being in processing, as their quoted timeframe was about to expire, I started to get antsy and emailed the company. There is no phone number on record that I could find. After several emails over a few days, I finally got a response basically telling me that they are busy, and they will ship it when they can get to it. After several more days and unanswered emails, I finally got fed up and initiated a dispute with my credit card company. Luckily I'm in Massachusetts, and the consumer laws are strict and protect consumers when a company can't abide by its advertised shipping times.

Also, apparently when people post negative reviews, they mark them as fraudulent, while at the same time MASS POSTING fake positive reviews on multiple sites. I was so annoyed that I just spent the better part of an hour flagging fake reviews on trustpilot (which are super easy to spot, as there were like 50 positive posts from "unique users" that only had two reviews, each of them for the same two companies).

If you don't know already, STAY AWAY.

I just wanted to post an update to this that I thought was relevant.

After initiating the chargeback, Slickwraps contacted me saying "we were just about to contact you! It's ready to ship!" - convenient timing.

I declined and took the refund.

Yesterday I decided to try and order a dbrand skin, which looks identical to the SW skin I tried to order. They sent me a tracking number the SAME DAY, and today it was received by USPS and should be here Friday.

The experiences I had with the two companies couldn't be more different. Night and day.

I have had nothing but good experiences with dBrand. I think you made a good choice there. I have never tried slickwraps, guess there is no good reason to over dBrand :)

Like others have said, dBrand wraps are amazing... attention to detail down to perfect cutouts for the screw holes in the bottom of the case.

I have also had issues with Slickwraps. Ordered two wraps for mine and my wife's iPhones last fall. 4 weeks out, they still hadn't arrived. You can't call customer service as there is only an email. I sent an email to their people and received a reply 3 days later. The reply? That I made a purchase during a sale and they are trying to get a lot of orders out ASAP.

They always have a sale of some kind. I demanded a refund. They claimed they can't issue a refund once the order is processed. I called bulls***. We received the wraps 3 days later out of the blue.

I will never order from them again.

Hi i have skin Slickwraps and dbrand (macbook pro 15) i just order same day on both brand. my order process on slickwraps is too long to update. almost a month before i receive the item. dbrand is blazing fast like a champ. they ship the item same day. and i receive it 4-5days.
first time to try slickwraps the skin is great but the service is poor.
long time dbrand user here and its great!

i bought the slickwraps because they have a middle skin (macbook pro 15) that dont have on dbrand.

OP,
Glad you could get the problem taken care of. In the future, don't ever do business with a website business that does not provide a working phone number and a correct physical address to contact the company. That is a big red flag to stay away.

Yeah my fault, I usually do the due diligence. This time I just did a cursory search and saw these two brands as the ones people were mostly discussing, and went with the cheaper option. Big mistake. After this debacle I took a closer look at their online presence and it's SHAMEFUL how obviously false their reviews on the web are. They were actually kicked off reddit for vote manipulation and creating fake accounts to make themselves look better. Maybe if they would spend that time and energy on process improvements instead of manipulating consumers they wouldn't have as many issues.

This. They always have a ticking clock on their site with a sale, and when it counts down it just resets. Creates a false sense of urgency, and gives them something to hide behind when they ultimately fail at getting their products out in time.

Ordered two wraps from them on Black Friday and initiated a PayPal claim 2 weeks later when I didn’t hear anything.

They sent a fake tracking number to PayPal, I appealed and I got a full refund through my credit card.

Fast forward to the end of January and I got a notification saying my wraps have shipped ( even though I raised a claim and got a refund). Received the wrap two weeks later.

So if you wait 2 months, you’ll probably eventually get your product.

Good wraps, perfect cutouts, just very bad customer service.

Thanks for the warning. I am looking for a skin too to put on my mbp and their website came up on the first page. I will avoid them.

I've had the exact same experience with SlickWraps. I ordered a skin and after 3 weeks still had not gotten any type of tracking information or really even an acknowledgement of my order. When I finally got a response from them, it was very rude and basically said "We will get it shipped when we get it shipped."

When I received the skin and attempted to put it on, it was cut very badly and wasn't close to being the correct size. Upon emailing them pictures they told me that I wasn't eligible for a refund because I'd already attempted to install the skin. How am I supposed to know if it fits correctly if I don't attempt to install it?

Anyway, like the OP states, avoid them. Terrible company to deal with and the product they do eventually ship is very, very poor.

In my experience, great products but the same crappy slow shipping as everyone else complains about. I haven't tried any of their regular wraps, but I've bought their alcantara and natural series leather skins, and the quality of those were top notch. The leather one has developed a really nice patina and gets quite a few compliments (I have it on my MacBook Air).

Besides the terrible after sales support, what about the skins themselves? Good quality or not?
