Slide to Unlock text size

I am customising my "Slide to Unlock" text by changing the AWAY_LOCK_LABEL string in SpringBoard.strings however I am wondering whether it is possible to change the text font, size or alignment.

Basically, the replacement string I would like to use is too long for the default space allowed so I would like to either make the text smaller so it all fits it, or move the text to the left (I am using a blank bottombarknobgrey.png) so that the text fits.

I dont know if this is possible but if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate your thoughts.
