Hello,
I just got a Slingbox Pro HD, and connected it up. I am able to access the Slingbox via wifi on my mac, and on my iPhone.

However when I go to 3G I'm not able to access the Slingbox on the iPhone.
I have set up port fowarding on my DSL Modem D-Link model DSL-2540B, and my router D-Link model DGL-4500.

Even though I can't watch the Slingbox on my iPhone I know it's accessing the Slingbox. Because I see it wake up do the lights etc, but in the optimization part on the phone it stays at 0% and then gives me a message about either the iPhone, or Slingbox isn't connected to the internet.

Please help, or I might have to return it. Which I don't want to do.

Have you checked your outgoing data speed? If it really sucks, it'll do pretty much exactly what you are describing.

How would you recommend I check that? I have a speed test on my phone. The upload is 512 to 701.

Yes several times, and reset the whole thing and set it up from scratch.

Side note: I can ping the DSL Modem, and the Router. I'm not able to ping the Slingbox...

Try it from a friends pc. That will at Least let you know if you can hit it from the Internet

Everything works in the configuration until this point.

The automatic, and the manual configuration are not working then I get to this point, and it makes me save the configuration. So it saves with out it being able to access the internet.

Update: My brother was able to access the Slingbox on his PC at home. So I know the port forwarding is working. Just seems to be a problem with my iPhone connecting on 3G argh!

web

Try getting to your slingbox from outside the LAN on the WAN with a machine at school, work, etc.

go to watch.slingbox.com and set that up, works better to do this the first time IN the LAN then it will automagically grab the slingbox finder ID.

Once that is done, then try to connect from outside the LAN.

edit: sorry I didn't fully read the final post here.

Can you connect with your iphone from outside the LAN using WIFI?

3G seems to work fine for me, pretty much everywhere. It is REALLY useful on planes, since the bandwidth it actually uses is very little so the stream is very constant.

I would try to connect via ip address as opposed to the slingboxid.

Have you tried Sling Media support or at least slingcommunity.com? This is obviously past being a simple problem.
