Hello,

I have been trying to find a UK source for these CD/DVD 3" disc adapters which enable you to use them in slot loading drives without them getting stuck in your iMac etc. I have only managed to find a few which are located in the US(I'm in the UK) and they all seem to be made by Memorex and I don't fancy paying $35 plus the item's value on top just to have the item shipped here.

I'm not yet decided as to how I will be able to backup my video's on my camcorder(which is not here yet) as I have 3 possible options to choose from:

1) Use the USB cable supplied with the video camera and load Windows XP under Parallels with the Sony software loaded up in order to make a direct DVD copy from the 3" DVD in the camcorder to a standard size 5" DVD disc in my iMac9I think this is how it works)

2) Buy and use an external DVD writer plugged in my iMac which could be used for direct disc to disc copying(using the slot drive) or just for reading the discs as they nearly all support the smaller disc format with the smaller inner circle in the drive tray.

3) Finally use my DVD home recorder and press play on the camcorder once linked up to it, and then press record on the recorder and record in realtime(which is tiresome to say the least)

Does anyone else on here have a Sony Mini DVD based Video camera that they use with their iMac/Mac?? If so, what methd do you use to backup your precious video's onto standard size DVD's???

Michael.

Call and cancel the order for that camcorder, and then order one that is Mac compatible. (MiniDV, HDV)
