I know this is going to seem like a really stupid question, but I feel I should ask it anyways. Since the superdrives are slot-loading, I assume they can only read standard sized discs....but can they load smaller discs? Like the mini-dvd discs for Sony Camcorders?

I think, don't quote me on this, that the slot drives can read regular sized irregular shaped disks.

Anyone want to confirm this?

What about the super small CDs we see from time to time?

DO NOT EVEN PUT THOSE WITHIN A FOOT OF YOUR SLOT LOADING DRIVE!!!! I think that the slot loading is very convienient, and alot better than the pop-out (not sure what the correct word is) drives, unless done right (like the iMac G4, the one with the moving screen). The only disadvantage is that you can't use mini dvds/cds.

that's good to know.

if people use their DVD slots a lot, i would also recommend getting an external drive...they're faster and quite cheap these days.

but still, it sucks that you give up something by having the slot-load...
