Anyone else have really slow iPhone back-ups after the 10.5.6 update?

People have been having really slow iPhone backups since forever. They probably won't notice.

not exactly. The last iphone update dramatically improve the time it took to back up. this post makes me nervous about installing the latest update of the OS.

I'll keep a close watch on this to see if anyone else is experience slow back up times on the iphone.

i didnt really notice that much of a difference, althought my backup was long, i thought this was due to the fact that i hadn't synced it to my computer for like a week or so.

that makes me not wanna update, do you guys have a intel or powerpc? my backups are usually 2 minutes or less + app synch since 2.2 and I don't wanna go back to the 10+ min backups of the good ol' 2.0.x

my backup times decreased dramatically after the last update but had (for no apparent reason) increased a few weeks ago.

i experience at least two failed backups after the 10.5.6 update... an iphone restart....resulted in a successful 30 sec back up... who knows..

my backup is well under a minute. before the last firmware upgrade, it took anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes.

Looks like I'll wait and not install the latest OS update because I don't want to go back to slow backups

I can concur - my backups used to take 1 - 2 minutes. Since 10.5.6 I havn't had a successful backup. The current one has been running since 10am. It's now 12:40pm.

The f/w 2.2 significantly fixed my backup issues (and broke most applications, even official Apple ones, but that's a different story)... now it's worse than before.

I'll try and reboot my iPhone as suggested above and post back.

A reboot didn't solve the issue. Interestingly I found that iTunes reported that it couldn't see any of my previous iPhone backups. Only one supposedly from 01/01/2001 titled "Unknown". I removed that, and manually deleted the old backups from ~/Library/Application Support/Mobile Sync/Backup.

Tried again - no luck. Sigh.

Anyone else notice these errors in their system.log while iTunes unsuccessfully tries to sync their iPhone?

This may have no relevance... but.

I went ot update the FaceBook application today, to 2.1 It failed. Twice. I deleted the old application and installed the update from scratch. All good.

I now plug in my iPhone, and it syncs within seconds.
