I don't understand why it's taking 45 mins to d/l a 250 mb tv show preview.

My computer's internet access has been fine, but for some reason downloads have been way to slow.

This is the new 27" quad core i7 imac I have. The d/l speeds should be blazing fast on a computer like this, not dialup download speeds.

I bought the season pass for the tv show "the walking dead" and it was d/ling all the shows at the same time. Once I made it to d/l one at a time, the speed increase was through the roof.

Guess that was the problem.

I use speedtest all the time and it gives me inconsistent results. I know my Internet has been fast and one day I'll get 14 mb download and 2.5 upload.

Then I'll try a hour later and it says 2-3 download and 2 upload, when I know the Internet speed hasn't dropped a lick.

Does the same thing when I test my iPhone and iPad.

you could have a d/l speed of 1tb /s , but if the server you are uploading from only has a u/l speed of 200kb/s ....your fast connection is absolute useless , same the other way round , if you yot a 2.5 gb/s upload speed but the serer you upload to has only a 1 gb /s download speed .......

sometimes your side of the connection is totally unimportant , often its the other side which is the important factor
