hi,

I have very slow transfer rate.
16 hours for 30GB (90.000 files) between a MBP M1 and 2016 MB. I am using a direct USB-C cable (rated 10Gbits) between the 2 devices and file sharing option within MacOS.

the MB should get USB 3 speed. so this should be done in a minute. but seeing 16 hours something is very wrong

any suggestions?

"any suggestions?"

Yes.
Use an external USB3 drive instead.

Are you setting up the m1 MBP for the first time?

this is solved. the file sharing was apparently over wifi. i don't now why it didn't use the cable. I switched off wifi and copying stopped. started the process again with wifi off and than it was copied in a few minutes...

the MBP was reading out. no it was already set up.
