My problem is consistent with other posts regarding intel imacs but I am not using a wireless router. A pc is connected to the same router and works as expected. The imac hesitates every time a new page is visited. :( Is anyone else experiencing this? I had a pc connected to this same location and it worked fine. I am runing 10.4.6 and it doesn't seem to have made a difference.

You are using different browers on Mac and PC.

BTW CPU has nothing to do with internet speed

How long is the 'hesitation'? Which browser are you using? Is it on all websites? Have you tried checking your connection speed on something like adslguide.org.uk? Questions questions!

My G5 is slow if Intel imac is on the same network

I am having a problem with my wifes old G5 (Panther) it runs great only if my Intel imac is off. I have run hardware checks on both. It looks like the Intel imac is hogging the network. I brought my work dell laptop home and it preforms much worst when the Intel imac is on too. Any reports or ideas?

I've noticed when running my Intel iMac on my brother's network that I get this same "hesitation" yet it's fine on my network. If I Wi-Fi my network out to my brother's (it's not far away), it goes nice and fast again. My only guess is that it's the router, I believe his is D-Link.
