I love my new SR 15" MBP, but sometimes the first letter of a word I type after not using the keyboard for a while doesn't get typed. Also, the trackpad sometimes seems slow to respond after not being used for a few minutes/seconds. Is this normal??

Your "ignore accidental trackpad input" maybe getting in the way. Turn it off by going to:

System Preferences
Keyboard & Mouse
Go the the "Trackpad" tab

At the bottom you will see "ignore accidental trackpad input." Uncheck that box and see how it goes.

I optimized the energy saver for better performance, but it didn't help. I don't see an option there thats related to my problem either. The first letter I try to type doesnt get typed at least twice a day...

The trackpad seems better after unchecking ignore accidental input.

There is also a keyboard response timer. I believe it's called the "Key Repeat Rate." Although this is technically for double lettered words (like too, miss, feet, etc) it might be what's causing your keyboard to be unresponsive at first. Try adjusting the bar and see what results you get.

Hmmm. I really don't know what to tell you:eek: Does the keyboard respond better if you've used the trackpad a little, or is it the same? Maybe the computer is just "awakening" or something.
