slow page load - high speed internet

Hi I hope someone can help - I have a fast internet connection but pages take ages to load. Spent hours with the ISP checking it is not a connection or modem problem. Works fine on my pc laptop. Have checked speed (speedest.net) - 10Mbps. Have run virus checks and DNSchanger removal tool based on some posts - all clear. Have tried no DNS, my ISP's DNS and open DNS to no avail.. Safari and Firefox have same problem... HELP please...!

If you connect the computer directly via ethernet does that speed up the loading?

no, it's connected directly already..
