I uploaded my first gallery to my Account yesterday and it took me about 4 hours to upload 500MB of images - that's insanely slow!!
Anyone else experienced the same problem?

Is there a way to protect certain gallerys with a password - think I remember a friend having this feature on a .mac account.

Welcome to MobileMe (formally .Mac)

Welcome to the world of MobileMe (formally .Mac)

It has always been very, very slow in the past. Twice as fast in the states as in other locations, say in Europe... but still... very, very slow.

As long as uploads don't quit mid-stream is the real issue... Can you "trust" it!
Being slow is something I have grown accustom to...

If there is a Password protection it's going to be available in iPhoto. Select your web gallery, then look around. I know you can choose to allow uploads etc...

There are a lot of aspects that were solid in .Mac and I'm sure will (eventually) be so again in MobileMe. Coupled with the new features I still think it will be a great suite of services.

That said, iDisk has always been the worst option for uploading data to a web-based server. Not a bad option, the worst option. I'm hopeful this will change, but it's been this way for years and I'm not holding my breath. It's debilitating-ly slow.
