You are perhaps making an assumption that everyone thinks that Safari is slow.
I disagree.

Is Safari noticeably slower for you than some other browsers, such as Chrome, or Firefox?
I often use Omniweb. The version 6 is quite fast for me, and not as resource-heavy as Chrome.

Which other browsers have you tried?

Have you tried one of the internet speed sites to check that your local internet speed is what you expect as normal?

110 Mbps, that is not the problem
So you get good speed, and you have tested for that speed? Were you using Safari when you tried that speed test site?

Do you get slow loading on this site, if you try Firefox, or some other browser?

Did the speed test with safari
Perhaps my virus scanner is slowing it down
Chrome loads macrumors almost instantly though
I do think it is a safari bug

If you have any extensions, such as adblockers, etc, try disabling all, then check for loading speed.

Many virus scanners will affect your system speed. Most folks here will point out that the benefits, if any, of using a virus scanner is not worth the loss of system performance.
But, try turning off your virus scanning to see if that makes a noticeable difference. You should use it like that for a few days to note any changes.

You can do the normal things to try for a speedier browser, such as deleting Safari cookies, deleting web history, emptying caches, etc.
