I got the ATV2 for Christmas and while it's a good piece of machinery, I've had a couple of issues.
1) It can sometimes take a long time to upload video from the home computer. For instance, it took about 5 minutes to start playing a Standard Def 90 min movie last night and can sometimes take longer with HD video. All of our iTunes files are on an external USB 2.0 hard drive, but the ATV is connected to the computer wirelessly over an N network. Is that a standard amount of time for the file to be loaded into the buffer and start playing?
2) At least three times since we've had it, the ATV won't recognize that the iTunes library is Home Shared. I've had to go and turn off Home Sharing on the main computer and then turn it back on and the ATV will recognize it then.
Since this is my first ATV, I have no idea if the load time is standard. It feels like it shouldn't be and the dropping of the home share certainly shouldn't be, but I didn't if others experienced this and had a fix or if this was a "return to Apple Store" situation.
