Hello everybody,

I now that this topic has been discussed in other posts, but I had the feeling that every case was some kind of unique (after the usual troubleshooting), so I thought I give it a try with another post.

My problem:
I live in Spain and moved to a new place, where I am using the same router as before and I contracted the same provider as before (Pepephone, Spain). Due to a company fusion we had to adjust some changes on the router, which we did with Pepephone help-hotline and everything worked out beautifully. We have normal internet connection with my MacBookPro, iPad and iPhone.

Now I installed as well my MacPro and I have real trouble getting a decent internet connection or any connection at all, although the WiFi-Signal is all the way up (distance to the router is around 10 meters). I have no download processes in the background that could bring down the speed.

Here are the tec specs of my MacPro:
OSX El Capitan 10.11.6
MacPro (Mid 2010)
Processor 2,8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Memory 12GB 1066MHz DDR3 ECC
Graphics ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB
Serial No CK10209RHF7

I already tried the following:
I did some tests with speedtest.net and the speed varies between the devices. Although the PING is always around 52 I get around 7Mbs download speed with my MacBookPro and only have around 3Mbs with the MacBook.

I tried different DNS
- 8.8.8.8
- 192.168.1.1
- 192.168.0.1
But did not affect the download speed.

Tried to change locations in the Preferences/Network/Wifi-panel. The changing to “Location: Automatic” I do not even get a IP-address and no WiFI signal.

I do not have much knowledge about the whole Network stuff, but I was reading the last days in the forums and similar cases.

Do you have any suggestions what could be the matter for my slow connection?

Thanks a lot!
