I am experiencing slower speeds when using my iPad Pro 10.5 compared to my iPhone 6. But this problem only occurrs with my WiFi at home so far.

I have done several speedtests using the same test server and the results look like this.

Has anybody else experienced different speeds?

I ran speed tests on my iPhone 6S and iPad 10.5 to compare. Same server.

iPad 41.41 down, 6.24 up.

iPhone 33.29 down, 6.14 up.

Could the router firmware have an update available? Does a restart of iPad and router give you any better results?

My iPad Pro 10.5 is faster than the other devices connected at the same router.

I would unplug the power to the router and internet modem for a minute and reset network settings on your device

There is no new firmware available. I will reset my network settings and try again afterwards.

My IPP 10.5 seems to be slightly higher than my other Apple devices. Get over 400 up/down and in my room where my iPhone gets about 50-60 Mbps the 10.5 is breaking 100 Mbps

Did you ever figure out a solution to this problem ?

I'm curious about this as well. I just purchased a 10.5 iPad Pro yesterday and I'm getting very poor WiFi performance. We have Cox GigaBlast internet(Fiber, 1GBs up & down) and I am consistently getting less than 30mbs up and down on my ipad. My 2015 MacBook gets the speeds that it should be getting(also on WiFi). I have tested my iPad is the same location as my MacBook and it still gets the speeds that I mentioned above. My house is pretty small at about 1,200sq feet and I have pretty much 100% coverage everywhere. I just did a firmware update to my router about a week ago and I have rebooted it since...

That is weird. I get slow speeds from WIFI on my iPad Pro 10.5 inch too.

BTW good luck with the Cox Gigablast internet with the data cap.

Yea, its kinda annoying about the new data cap(new in my area at least). However it's 2TB a month, which we cut the cord with cable about nine months ago and have never gone over about 1.25TB in a month. So we should be fine with the 2TB cap.

Actually Cox lowered it from 2 TB to 1 TB for Gigablast customers too unfortunately.

Wow, your right! It used to be a 2TB cap, I just logged into my Cox account and sure enough it says "All Cox Internet plans include 1 TB (1024 GB) per month of data usage. Unlimited and 500 GB Additional Data Plans can be added for an additional monthly charge. Data usage in excess of plan may result in a $10 charge for up to 50 GB of additional data and for each additional 50 GB block".

That is very annoying. When I signed up it was 2TB!!!

Tell me about it. Same use to be for Cox Ultimate internet package.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Hm, that’s odd indeed. I also have 1 Gb up and down. I normally get about 350-400 Mbps download and 450-550 Mbps upload on my iPad 10.5 Wifi with an Archer C9 router (in comparison I get 940 Mbps download and 950 Mbps upload via Ethernet on the computer).

Are you making sure you’re using the 5 GHz band on your iPad? If you’re just using the 2.4 GHz your max is only going to be like 50-100 Mbps download and upload.

Thanks for the response. I ended up restarting my router again (TP-Link AC5400) and the speeds are now consistent or even better than my MacBook gets. I guess the router just had some kind of glitch and a restart fixed it. Problem solved!

i get that sometimes too (as slow as 1mbit), i think it’s the router. perhaps signal interference with neighbors. the desktop, which is plugged in, always clocks full speed (65mbit).

Just had and fixed same (or similar) issue. iPhone and MBP both had fast connections, but iPad Pro was slow. The iPad used to be fast or faster than the other two devices. Tried lots of things, but here's what worked... forget network and re-join network.

Setting>WiFi> Click info icon (i) select "Forget This Network"

My high-speed connection was restored.

Wow this fixed my iPad too! Went from under 100 to almost 200!
