Slow X-fer..

hmmm soo i finally got everything figured.. out to transfer my music from pc to mac... then i start.. and im getting like super slow xfer rates....
i tried direct connect via ethernet cable.. and through a router ! am i doing something wrong? is does it always take 10 hours.. for 14gigs.

Are you connecting to the Mac via the PC or the other way 'round? Have you tried a different cable? Do you have an external storage medium you could use instead (iPod, hard drive or something)?

ODD... I transfer 1gig video files back and forth between my MBP and PC Desktop regularly and get around 3-4 minutes per gig.

Remember that you're dealing with thousands of music files, and not just one big 14 gig file. Maybe try zipping it first? Definitely check your cables.

One thing you could try, is sharing your macs internet connection and connecting it directly to the PC via ethernet - I think this would be marginally faster than using a router.
