Just did the mbp 1.0 update, the computer is for sure not as quick on boot now.

Thoughts?

Any suggestions on speeding up this girl, she was rocket fast but over the last couple weeks has slowed down with all my installs.

thanks

How many times did you reboot? You know that the reboot after an update is often slow, because system housecleaning is done during boot that is not normally done on routine boots, right?

Or do you mean that applications are not working as quickly?

I was wondering the same. Mine took forever to reboot the first time after the updates.

When mine first booted, the fans ran at full speed for a bit. Now I notice that the update has changed the default temperature at which the fans begin to increase speed. At about 56 degrees or so, the fans begin to ramp up to 3500 rpm so that the temperature drops back down. I'm really happy about this. Before the update, the temp would have to get up to 80 degrees before the fans would slowly increase speed.

yeah mine was slow rebooting, I did about 3 reboots and it was back up to speed. Also, I find that if it is booting slow going to system preferences/startup disk and selecting mac os x cures the problem
