sluggish and ical color fix ... 2.0

Hello all,

Yesterday I downloaded the 2.0 software for my 1st gen iphone and accessing the iphone was very sluggish. For an example opening contacts and then being able to scroll took forever. The same thing was happening on my new iphone 3G. Also I noticed that the color scheme was not matching on calendars like it is on my mac. (this I've read from other people as well)

Today I decided to do a restore and to NOT load a back up after the restore. Instead I started fresh as if I never had an iphone. So I gave it a new name and then sync'd all of my contacts, calendars, etc. for the first time on my "new" device.

This actually fixed the sluggish feeling of the navigation of the menus and it even fixed the colors I used in calendar.

This worked for me and hopefully it work for you guys who have a "sluggish" feeling. This really only affects those that upgraded their iphone and did a backup restore instead of a fresh restore and install.

I'm going to try this now. My colors are off and also my Notes app has been broken for a few firmwares now, I think a fresh start should fix it though since new firmware isn't.

Notes is working for me now, and it seems as fast as it should be. Calendar colors aren't synced though, in fact they're different colors than they were before, which makes it seem like it just randomizes them.

When you do this, 'start fresh', are you just selecting 'this is a new iPhone' when it asks you what you want to do right after a restore? The options are "this is a new iPhone' or 'restore from backup: XXXX'. I'm having trouble with my voicemail app not working, and am wondering if this might work as a possible fix.

Yeah, choose that it's new and don't revert to a backup. You'll have to redo your settings.

Yeah, select the "this is a new iPhone" option.
