Anyone notice the fans spinning and a slight sluggishness with Lion when running with 2 GB's of RAM ? I guess it's time to upgrade to 4 at the very minimum.

I've only got 2GB in my old MacBook. Safari loads in one bounce, as does Mail and iTunes takes only two. Scrolling is fluid, although sometimes pages with a lot of images (such as the picture threads on this site) take a couple of seconds to fully load before you can scroll.

I've not heard my fans come on, apart from when on Flash and video heavy websites.

aah! I'm getting so confused! I have the mid-2009 MBA, so the RAM isn't upgradable ... some people are saying 2GB is fine. Others are saying it isn't!

I am running lion GM on a mid 2007 iMac with 2.4 GHz C2D and 2 G of RAM. Things are pretty sluggish and there are a lot of spinning beach balls. The only app which is running well is Safari 5.1. I am currently waiting for my new 4G RAM in the mail. Hope it improves performance.

It runs fine on the late 2010 MBA (2GB).

Yup, same for me.
