This might sound odd; but when I'm working on my 2019 iMac and looking to either save or attach a doc (Excel, MS Word, Adobe PDFs etc); Finder is always very small and I've to drag it open wider etc

It never did this before the Big Sur update

Is there any way I'm able to rectify this; so Finder is larger when I access it to save/attach etc?

Cheers

I've never thought about that at all; so I just did a quick test…

CMD-tabbed to Finder (I had no previous open windows), CMD-N for a new window; did absolutely nothing but resize it (so no moving, or navigating); CMD-W to close it.

And the next window I opened remembered the size.

Edit: Or is OP talking about the save-window? 🤔

Cheers for that; and both. More so the 'attach' window as that's the one I use the most

attach a document to... what?

the save window on my imac (mostly in logic pro), always opened 'small', without showing folders, and a path; i had to stretch it every time. but this is fixed in the 11.3 beta (so, a good sign for the next release).

Thanks

When I'm sending docs via email or LinkedIn etc; both the 'save' and 'attach' windows open up very small; it's just an annoyance more than anything else

As said; it never used to do this before Big Sur

Yeah, it's a known bug...

I submitted this bug report to Apple many times to no avail.

am not seeing it anymore in the 11.3 betas, so hopefully ok for everyone by the final .3 release.

On my 2018 Mac Mini and 2018 MBP, with 11.3 betas, it disappears after you reset it the first time, but after two or three times, it comes back.

yikes. not happening on either mac (and, fwiw, only happened on my imac). still, apple needs to fix this!
