small happy mac face appears on lower left portion of desktop

i recently bought a mac powerbook G4 with osx tiger installed. After activating my .mac account, a small happy face icon appears on the lower left of my monitor. Anyone have any ideas as to why this would be?

Er, you don't mean the finder do you? What happens if you click on it?

I think I saw another thread like this..

In the other case the user had a finder icon on their desktop just to the left of the dock.

Yeah that happened to me try restarting it and it should be fine. This happened when I installed some software and it asked me to restart but I didn't and forgot.
