so before iOS 10 you had to edit your contact through the contacts app to make the incoming call contact photo small - now it's the whole screen. another work around was editing the photo from icloud.com but that doesn't seem to work either. i have a 800x800 photo that i've edited and nothing seems to work to revert back to the small photo.

has anyone had luck or know how to make this change to show a small photo rather than the full screen?

I'm using 600x600 pics and editing the contacts through the iCloud.com site.
This seems to work for me!

i did that previously and it worked. then all of a sudden the photos came out big. i re-edited them again and saved them 200x200 and it seemed to have worked.

I think the photo's resolution being used is what tells it to do either a full-screen image on the incoming call or a small circle image. Some of my contacts are full-screen, some are circles, and all had their photos added from Address Book on my Mac syncing only with iCloud.
