Small Iphone water damage

I was just carrying in a drink from the garage, when a tiny amount of it dripped down my hand into my iphone headphone jack. Now the iphone always thinks it has headphones in. Unfortunately about 1/4 of the water mark in the headphone jack is read. I have only had my iphone for about 18-20 days, have I already broken it, or is there some way I can get it repaired or repair it myself.

Wow, if you were gonna spill a small drop on water on your phone that's about the worst place you could have done it.

I would turn it off and let it dry for a day or two then see where you are.

I know, and it was literally ONE drop . I'm assuming all hopes of apple fixing it now are none? There's barely any red in the headphone plug.

I would say you are, unfortunately, correct. But you won't know until you try. Call them or visit an apple store and see.

Is there any way to disable or turn off the headphone port? It still works if I plug headphones into it, and the speakers still work when I get a call, but its annoying to always have to use headphones for things like music and youtube. Is there some way to get it repaired? The damage seems minimal(or at least to me it does )

Unfortunately Apple won't repair anything that has water damage, I would say take it in and try to get a replacement the worst they can do is say no.

I had the same problem with my iPod Touch. I called the apple store and they told me to try a full restore, and surprisingly it worked. Apparently the water drop on the headphone jack triggers the headphones and it becomes a software issue.
