Small spill under the mouse bar

I was at a friends house when his little sister ran passed me and tripped, pop went everywhere. Thankfully avoided most of my computer, but there was a bit (less than a teaspoon) that splashed on my trackpad and mouse bar. I did not really think anything about it, but now whenever I click the mouse, it gives a bit of resistance... does anyone know of any way to take it off, or is it like the keys, stationary.

what model? mbook or mbookpro? anyway the keyboard keys can pop off, i don't know about the mouse key, maybe you must remove the top casing. i hope you turned you machine upside down right away.

It would help to know what computer you are talking about as they are all a little different, from my knowledge though the trackpad does not allow you to take it off. By the mouse bar I am assuming that you mean the button. You can try using a product like iKlean that could help get some of the soda off. There was a very very very very sugary liquid that splashed on you computer, it's a good idea to take care of those things ASAP.

well, it doesn't look like you can separate the mouse key from the top case, so you might wanna try to clean it best you can, maybe with some kind of spray, or you can remove the top case and see what you can do then.

would a few drops of distilled water work? since it is only a REALLY small area (the bottom left corner of the button) just a few drips in the crack with the battery out...

(of course while it is plugged in, can't interrupt the porn... heh, jk )

Honestly, if there are no system problems, I'd say just let it wear down. Eventually the clicking will smooth back out, but it may be a pain the meantime. Or take it to apple and let them charge you to fix it.
