In the betas I read that we had to redownload the apps to get smaller sized apps. Is that still the case or are they getting trimmed automatically?

When I update to new apps it does not seem like they are any smaller. Anyone have any info?

Don’t they all redownload anyway? They’re not part of the iCloud backup. So if you restore your device from iCloud wouldn’t they supposedly be the smaller app size?

I’ve noticed no difference.

That's strange.

"Apps in iOS 13 launch up to twice as fast, and apps in general are smaller. Apps are 50 percent smaller in size when you first download them, and 60 percent smaller on average when updating."

Not clear though - I saw somewhere that the reduction is in download size due to different compression used but that when installed, the app size is as before.
