On the moon.
Well, if I remember right, most of the current iMacs is emptyness, since they're now using the Intel mobile processors, but using the case that was originally designed for a PowerPC G5 processor, which runs a hell of a lot hotter, and has a big heatsink and requires a lot of cooling.

Also, because the machine isnt so power hungry, they can shrink the PSU, or even make it external.

dimensionally, the only thing you can't really alter is the size of the screen, but you can certainly make the bezel thinner or reduce the thickness. apple could also get rid of (or at the very least significantly reduce) the awful chin. i think the ultimate goal is to make the imacs look like cinema displays with a slot-load super drive on the side and an isight on the front. now that's an imac!

This is my idea of what the new imac will look like.

Or maybe they'll just look identical to the cinemas.

IS IT POSSIBLE?
Sure, for one they could save a lot of space by "cheating" and going to a power brick like they do with the mini. One of the early selling points for the iSlab was that it didn't have a brick, so they might be reluctant to do that.

Any Apple iMac design is better than this…

i think theyll should make a larger imac than 24" and make it so that the imac can just be used as a display if the internals fail

I picture a cinema display with a drive on the side and an iSight, and maybe the base being about the height and size of ?TV for like harddrive and stuff. Just a thought.

Actually they managed to fit a lot in a Mac Mini, so the base would probably be the size of a mac mini.

That would be a little ugly in my uneducated opinion. I think like ?TV base and the other parts in screen and no chin.

Also, I heard apple was thinking about somehow putting the camera in the screen. So when looking at the person on the screen, you also acutly look like you are on the other persons screen. Right now when you look at the screen you look away from the camera. YOu know? That would make the area around the screen smaller, right?

Just give me a smaller chin and the ability to plug in another computer, thats all I ask :)

Although maybe adding some memory card slots would be cool (they could build that into the keyboard though)
