iPad Pro Smart Connector and moisture

Are the exposed gold contacts sensitive to moisture or fingerprints? I have hyperhidrosis (sweaty hands, in my case) and feel uncomfortable touching the side of my new iPad Pro. Does this increase the likelihood of corrosion or oxidation?

Also, how do you safely clean the Smart Connector? Apple recommends a slightly damp cloth for the iPad, but doesn't specify what do do about the Smart Connector. Water and metal contacts seem like a bad mix.

Alcohol based solution should work.

I would also wipe you device down at the end of the day. Just a MF cloth is all I use.
