Smart folio spalling

What has it been? Two or three weeks since the new iPad Pro and Smart Folio arrived? My Smart Folio is seriously spalling where my finger tips and thumb grip it when carrying it. I spend very little time carrying it, probably less than ten minutes per day. That the Smart Folio would deteriorate so significantly in so short a time signals some serious QC problems.

Is anybody else seeing this, or did I just get a dud sample?

Head to Apple store and return it for a new one, a $100 folio should not break like that within two weeks of use.
Usually they take it in, no questions asked. Unless it looks like a dog has been chewing on it, obviously.

My Keyboard folio still looks like new after 2 weeks of daily usage.
Noticed that the exterior is a smudge magnet though, have to clean it very often.
