So, I want to create a new smart playlist for my unplayed podcasts (the ones with the blue dot). However, I can't seem to figure it out.

The only thing I've managed to come up with is having iTunes match both "date added is in the last 1 days" and "play count is 0" criteria.

Unfortunately, this is not what I want. I frequently don't have time to finish all of a podcast just to get it register in iTunes with a play count of 1. This is especially true for video podcasts that have a string of ads attached to the end of each episode.

Any suggestions?

Genre IS Podcast
Playcount IS 0

That should work for you; it worked for me.

Good luck!

Did you read my post? :) I have that now. That's not what I want because I don't always listen to an entire podcast episode. Therefore, iTunes doesn't mark the play count to 1.

I just end up with a pile of podcasts that I've listened to 90 percent of.

By the way, you should use "Podcast is True" instead of "Genre is Podcast" because some podcasts have mislabeled genres (like talk, music, etc).

You're right; I clearly didn't read your original post. So sorry! :)

However, I wonder if you've played around with the settings on the Podcast screen of iTunes. You might be able to rig it up using some stuff there in conjunction with a playlist.

What if when you're done listening to the podcast and you're not totally at the end you move the slider all the way to the end?
