Hi Guys,

I am looking for some ideas inspirations on how is everyone using the Smart Stack in Widget and how to have the best smart stack. So anyone willing to post pictures would be a welcome thing.

I am thinking what all can be added to the Smart Stacks in Widget ? Any examples ? I cannot think anything besides just the Today News. lol !

Also I understand the OS decides to show a particular widget in smart stack based on certain parameters. So can anyone give an example if they have noticed and observed which Widget in Smart Stack did the OS show on what occasion ?

You can also turn off the smart feature and just manually flip between widgets.

Yes, but to begin with I am curious and interested to see how people are using Smart Stack what do they have there and how does the smart stack change what it shows at what time ?

In my experience, it's based on a time of day and frequency of use. Whenever News appears I swipe it away. My shortcut for browsing MR from Safari appears during the work day (lol). Most other times it's usually Photos that appear.

Yeah even I noticed that it is Photos that Appear on even my Smart Stack and hence I thought of checking it out with others. Didn't find too appealing Smart Stack but still exploring. Who knows am I missing something ?

I use “dumb stacks” on my widget. the first and second row widgets are all three dumb stacks, I can manually flick them depending on my needs. Basically all three contains the same 4 widgets on each: Calendar, battery, weather and world clocks.

So when my calendar is full of schedules, I have it shown on the first row stack to show more information.
The other two stacks on second row showing what I need on second / third priority such as when charging the iPad and or connecting to external bluetooth device so I can monitor their battery.

Ok ! "Smart Stack" and now we have "Dumb Stack" lol !

To be honest the Smart Stacks aren’t useful for me personally since I can swipe between pages instead of remembering all of the widgets’ stacks. Tried out a Smart Stack for fun

Page 1: everything, moved the widgets to the top since my thumb only reaches the bottom portion of the display without hand adjustments
page 2: work

I am wondering how can this be done ? Anyone ?

App suggestions widget

This feature is such junk on the iPad. It's such a shame... on the iPhone it's awesome.. but so neutered on the iPad. I don't get it.

lol ! I know siri suggestions. I meant, Just Add Siri Suggestions and then how ? How does it change to all the other APPS as shown in the above picture I have uploaded where it shows one for mail, then for settings, then for another APP ? After adding Siri Suggestions what is the next step ?

The way Siri Suggestions works is it compiles a list of the Apps you use the most.... Over time the list changes as and when you use an App more often than others.

You cannot manually add apps to your likings. It’s automatically suggested by Siri based on most apps you’re currently using.

For manual App stack adding, you can install this app on the app store.

Ok So it will keep changing APP Suggestions based on Usage ?

Interesting ! I was wondering in that case will adding a Manual APP like Launcher which @macdogpro suggests would that be not a better option ? And add that to the widget area ?
Possibly... but you would be restricted to the Apps you select for use with the launcher app.
on my iPhone I have dedicated a whole page with Siri Suggestions. It then shows 24 icons (the entire page) of Apps I have been using the most... In other words the Apps I need are always available.

Exactly right. The fact that we cannot set up the iPad home screen with widgets is a completely missed opportunity around which I cannot wrap my head as to Apple's logic here.

And with the amount of real estate on the screen - imagine a blank notepad you could just take out your Apple Pencil and jot down notes.. so much opportunity.. a complete swing and miss by Apple on this one. They turned iPad OS back into iPhone OS with this.
