For quite a while, our family has been using smartphone holder-brackets that mount on ventilation ports. Here is an example of a Kenu Airframe mount we use.
We have a van with ports that have a vertical orientation (the dash is not sloped like many vehicles) and the holder-bracket can sometimes pop out and fall to the floor (taking the phone with it), especially on rough roads.
The top is the dash in the van is relatively flat, but curvy. I don't think adhesive mounts would work on the top of the dash. What are my other options? There's usually at least one smartphone along with us when we're out and about. And on trips out-of-town, we need at least one smartphone mounted somewhere to use as a travel GPS.
