Now not only do I not have the hurdles of pushing my book around to publishers. I now have distribution network of Apple's eco-system to make my book available. Yes, there are other services like Xlibris, but this deal is sweet.

I'm semi-interested but I'm trying to find the fine print that shows me whether this is or is not just a vanity press, till then I don't have much to add.

If they can improve the ePub definition to include audio/video ... this would be great for self publishers.

Best news today! This is awesome, and I'm so glad that they're doing it! I always thought it didn't make sense that they'll let small developers submit to the app store, but then turn around and only accept ebooks from big publishers. This is great.

Side note: Kindle owners probably aren't going to be very happy that their prices got jacked up. :/
