I'm running OS X Server as a Primary Domain Controller. I've (tried) moving my files to the Server profiles folder multiple ways but each time files go missing.

The first time, I copied from my local machine to the SMB profile folder. The directory structure was intact when I logged in with my roaming profile credentials, but no files were there.

The second time, I had the files on an external hard drive, and I plugged that into the MMS. I set the permissions on my profile folder to allow the admin account on the server to access it, and copied from the external to the profile folder. Many files showed up, but some subdirectories contained no files and were corrupted on my external.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to get my files onto my server's profile folder.

Also, login time takes FOREVER. I wait 5+ minutes to log in. I have Offline Files disabled on the local machine. The sole difference between my profile and my children's is the size, mines 12+ GB and theirs are -100 MB. They login quickly, my logins take ages.

I currently have 2 computers in the domain (constituted a test group, the other 7 will be added as soon as I figure out these issues). Both are PCs.

From Comcast, I have a gateway with a built in gigabit switch (DHCP features turned off) in the basement. I use this as my trunk switch. From there, I have a CAT6 gigabit link to my office's gigabit switch. On said switch, I have 4 connected devices: a printer, my workstation, the MMS, and the other computer in the domain (so far). My workstation and the MMS are connected with gigabit speeds, the other two devices are Fast Ethernet. Also in the basement, I have a Linksys wireless router configured as an access point/switch (DHCP turned off, connecting through a LAN port, not the Internet port). Connected to that via CAT6 are a PS3 and a Blu Ray player, and wirelessly I have 6 laptops and a desktop.

I have one BlackBook, and the rest Windows PCs of assorted vintages. The computer I use most frequently is my workstation, approximately 6 moe- year old with a 2.83 GHz quad core processor and 4 GB RAM.
