Hi,

I have a 10.4.2 that has issues connecting to a smb-share. What's really strange is that it works fine for shares on one server and it doesn't on another... not since yesterday anyway. It worked fine last week and to my knowledge, nothing has changed. When connecting to the share I get the error -36, which is an input-output error.

I googled around for some answers, but haven't come up with anything that works. One solution asked to disable cleartext passwords for this server, but that's already the case. I did all security updates on the mac and have tried everything I can think of. Please help.

Thanks,
Blackdan

Can anything else browse the network shares on this particular server?

sure no problem.

Anyway, I kinda solved the problem:

it works fine when I logon with a local account and then authenticate with a domain password when accessing the share. if I logon with a domain account from the start, some work, some don't... Very odd IMO (but then I'm a newbie when it comes to using macs in a domain, so it may be perfectly logical to you guys)

thanks for the effort - all of you :)

Fixed

this issue is fixed. I re-installed the Tiger-server and now all clients that have Tiger installed work fine. Users can authenticate to the domain AND can access all shares on the Tiger server. Now I just need to update all users to Tiger
