Installed ML and now don't seem to be able to mount shared folders from my Active Directory Windows Server 2003. They worked fine on Lion, but when I type in the user name/password during the authentication the box just shakes its head no, and won't connect. I know I'm entering the correct user name and password, as I checked them on the server.

Any suggestions? I'm using an year old iMac...

Thanks!

Figured it out! The clock on the Windows Server 2003 was an hour off. Guess it didn't make the switch for daylight savings or something. Set the clock on the server and the shares now connect hassle free.

Never realized that the clock was so important!

Good catch! Looking it up, it looks like Samba will freak out if the clock between the two systems is off by more than 5 seconds! Yikes.

I'm new here and therefore I hope it is no problem to step in but for this reason we have synced our clients via ntp with our servers. The only problem is that smb transfers are slower as Win7 or Linux clients achieve - already tuned some tcp settings but OS X stays at the third place.
