SMCFanControl not starting on MBP

I just downloaded SMCFanControl and it will not start.

I previously had Fan Control and I uninstalled it by following the instructions on the website. I did the SMC Reset as directed too. I'm not sure if it went through though because there is no indication.

I have a UMBP 17".

If I can't get it to work I'll just use Fan Control.

Well, many people use SMC, but the program was not designed for Intel Macs, so try to find one that is a Universal. I never need to use a separate fan control, because the fans always rev up when I need them to, even in heavy editing.

Why did you uninstall Fan Control and choose SMCFanControl? Fan Control is so much better.. more control and it is automated.

Really??? Oddly how the publisher states it's suitable for MacBookPro's. And all MBP have been based on Intel processors, there was NEVER a MBP that's powered by PowerPC chips.

P.S... I have it running on my desktop MacPro..
